Tailored to your event
All prices include one spell jar per guest, host time, and travel within 25 miles of Durham. Beyond that, travel charges apply and are confirmed as part of your quote. A 25% deposit secures your date. Bespoke pricing is calculated on enquiry based on final guest count and staffing requirements.
Booking & deposits
How booking works
We want the process to be as simple and stress-free as the experience itself. Here's everything you need to know before you enquire.
Confirming your date
Once you enquire, we'll hold your date provisionally for 48–72 hours while we discuss the details. Your booking is confirmed once the deposit is received.
Deposit & payment
A 25% non-refundable deposit is due at booking to secure your date. The remaining balance is due 14 days before your event.
Cancellation policy
More than 8 weeks before: deposit retained, no further charge. 4–8 weeks before: 50% of the total fee. Less than 4 weeks before: full fee, as stock and time will already be committed.
Postponements
One free date change is allowed if requested more than 8 weeks before your original date, subject to availability. Within 8 weeks, standard cancellation terms apply unless otherwise agreed.
Guest numbers
Final guest count must be confirmed no later than 14 days before the event. Increases beyond your booked package tier on the day may not be fully accommodated.
Outdoor events
If your event is outdoors, you're responsible for providing a suitable weatherproof space (gazebo, marquee, or indoor backup) for the stall. We reserve the right to relocate under cover if weather risks the equipment.
The Apothecary Bar is fully insured with public liability insurance, available on request. All jars and contents are for decorative and ritual use only — not for consumption.
